A nursing home employee was ordered to remain in custody for four weeks until June 8 in connection with the suspicious death of a resident at the Randers nursing home and the hospitalization of four other patients in a similar situation, where the drug benzodiazepines was found in the deceased's blood even though the drug was not listed on her medication card.

TV2 Østjylland previously revealed that a female resident contracted the disease in three cases and was hospitalized, in addition to four residents from the same ward in the nursing home being hospitalized with the same symptoms.

The court hearing took place on Wednesday behind closed doors at Randers Court at the request of both the prosecution and the defense, and the publication of the name was prohibited.

Judge Christina Skovbo Hauerslev ruled that the doors should be closed to the press due to the nature of the case, as the information should not be known to the public until the police conduct further investigations.

East Jutland police previously stated that a person was arrested on March 14 and has remained in custody ever since.

The case has previously been handled behind closed doors, and the police have so far managed to keep the charges against the woman confidential.
