A 31-year-old man died while being arrested by police in Stevns after being handcuffed. The Independent Police Complaints Authority (Den Uafhængige Politiklagemyndighed) is investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The Midt-og Westsjællands Politi announced in a press release that the man died while in police custody at an undisclosed address in Stevns. Police confirmed that the death occurred on Tuesday morning, according to TV2.
The incident began and police intervention was requested
Police explained that at 7:50 a.m. on Tuesday, an ambulance that was at an address in Stevens requested police assistance. The statement said the man's behavior was inappropriate, prompting the patrol to use handcuffs on him so that he could receive treatment.
Police stated that the man subsequently suffered a heart attack after his hands were tied, which led to his death.
Police stated that the man's relatives had been informed of the incident.
The case has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission.
