After 5 stabbings in a few days: Copenhagen police set up 17 temporary checkpoints in these areas

Copenhagen police have just announced the creation of temporary checkpoints called visitationszones following several serious stabbings in the past few days. Police are currently setting up the temporary checkpoints in parts of Nørrebro, Nordvest and Frederiksberg, with the aim of preventing further incidents and increasing safety.
Since Christmas Eve, five stabbings have occurred in the three aforementioned areas, prompting Copenhagen police to launch a large-scale investigation to find the perpetrators, while simultaneously increasing their presence on the streets in the areas where the stabbings took place.
In the past 24 hours, police have charged several people with possessing knives, and a 29-year-old man was arrested Wednesday evening and remanded in custody on Thursday for 14 days for violating the knife law.
The temporary checkpoints will operate from 6:00 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2022 until 6:00 PM on Thursday, January 5, 2023, with the possibility of extension. Copenhagen police will also continue to increase their presence on the streets in various areas.
