A police officer is accused of hacking into the phones of his colleagues and other individuals and accessing indecent material.

According to TV2, citing Ritsau, a police officer illegally hacked into the phones of his colleagues and also illegally accessed investigation materials, according to the indictment, with 140 police officers having their mobile phones hacked or having attempts made to hack them.

The prosecution in the Fyn police believes they have sufficient evidence and therefore charges have been brought against the former police officer, as published by the police in a press release on Friday.

The man's alleged victims include former colleagues, friends, acquaintances, and random individuals. In some cases, the accused purchased used hard drives and was able to recover the data stored on them.
