Chicken sausage poisoning kills several Danes; authorities recall product from stores and restaurants
According to the Danish Food Administration, Listeria bacteria have been found in sausages that are being recalled from stores and restaurants, and can cause listeriosis and meningitis in humans, which can lead to death.

The Danish Food and Drug Administration wrote on its website: “The mortality rate among patients with severe symptoms is approximately 25%.” There have been several cases of listeria in sausages in recent years that have claimed the lives of several people.
