A 17-year-old student died this afternoon after being burned yesterday, Tuesday, at Katedralskolen school in Viborg. He was airlifted to Rigshospitalet for treatment, but his death was announced today. Out of respect for his family, the police have not released details of the tragic incident that led to the student's burning.

Central and Western Jutland police are also asking for the video of the incident, which has already been shared several times on social media, to stop circulating and to delete it. Police have warned that sharing the video is a criminal offense.

Although no details have been released about how the fire that killed the student started, this is the second such incident in a short period. Just six days earlier, a seventh-grade girl at Snejbjerg School in western Herning suffered severe burns after a botched physics experiment.
