Rødovre Centrum evacuated Tuesday evening after a fire broke out in a shop
A fire broke out in a cash register at a store in the Rødovre Centrum shopping center in Rødovre, on the outskirts of Copenhagen, triggering the center's alarm and prompting the evacuation of staff and customers. The fire was quickly extinguished, according to the Capital Region Emergency Services, as reported by Rødovre Lokal Nyt.
Images from the source show thick smoke billowing from one of the entrances. Michael Johnson, duty officer with the Metropolitan Emergency Management Agency, stated, “The smoke’s development means a lot of smoke has spread throughout the large, open rooms.” Emergency crews worked to ventilate the center and remove the smoke using high-pressure fans.
No one was injured and the evacuation was carried out peacefully.
