As part of the implementation of the 2018 supplemental grant law, which included video street surveillance and allocated funds for approximately 100 cameras in police districts across the country, 14 video cameras are currently being installed in Hjørring and Hobro, so that citizens of the two largest cities in North Jutland can feel safer walking the streets in the evening and at night.

In Hjørring, North Jutland police installed eight cameras in Strømgade, Springvandspladsen and Jernbanegade, as well as six cameras in Hobro spread across two central streets in the town center, Adelgade and Østergade.

Signs have been placed at video shooting areas on all roads covered by camera lenses, so that passersby can know where the cameras are located.

It is worth noting that there are other areas with video surveillance cameras in some streets of Aalborg and Frederikshavn.
