A young man was shot dead in Brøndby, on the outskirts of Copenhagen, in the Nordvej district, on Thursday afternoon, November 17. The victim was a young man in his late twenties from Brøndby, and his next of kin have been notified, according to a press release from Copenhagen police.

Shortly afterward, police found a burning Skoda Octavia in Nybovej, about six kilometers from the scene of the murder.

Police are investigating both incidents, interviewing witnesses on both incidents, and investigating them on the assumption that there may be a connection.

Police would like to hear from any witnesses who may have noticed anything suspicious before, during or after the two incidents. Police would also like to know if anyone saw a Skoda Octavia traveling on the road between Brøndby Nord Vej and Nybovej, according to Police Inspector Mogens Lauridsen in the press release.

The police inspector notes that the investigation is still in its initial stages and is extensive, and that it is too early to say anything about possible motives, environments, and relationships.

West Copenhagen police have set up a mobile police station in the area where the crime occurred, where witnesses and residents of the area can go if they want to talk to the police. Police stated late Thursday evening, shortly before 9 a.m., that they had finished with the crime scene in Brøndby, but the investigation is still ongoing.
