A young woman (20 years old) was stabbed in the neck in the street on Saturday evening.

A 20-year-old woman was stabbed in the neck with a knife on an open street in Vejle on Saturday evening, according to the South East Jutland police, who received a report of the stabbing at 8:53 p.m.

The young woman was taken for treatment and is now out of danger.

Police arrested a 21-year-old man and charged him with attempted murder.

The stabbing took place in Jacob Gades Stræde in the center of Vejle, and according to the Vejle Amts Folkeblad newspaper, police cordoned off the area and closed several streets for several hours.

The 21-year-old was arrested shortly after the stabbing, and police also found the weapon used in the crime.

Police released no further information Sunday morning about the circumstances of the attack or the relationship between the young victim and the suspect. The accused will be remanded in custody for a constitutional hearing at Horsens Magistrates' Court Sunday morning.
