The roof of the Maxi Zoo pet store in Valby, Copenhagen, caught fire, and as a result, a huge column of smoke appeared that could be seen from most parts of Copenhagen.

One person was taken to the hospital for observation due to smoke poisoning.

The police received the fire report at 8:55 this morning, and the store and surrounding shops, namely Flügger Farver, Silvan and T. Hansen, were evacuated.

A TV2 reporter immediately reported that nine large fire engines were currently trying to extinguish the flames, and at the same time firefighters were on the roof of the Flügger Farver paint store in the same building as the burning Maxi Zoo, where the fire broke out. The smoke is now drifting over Copenhagen and can be seen in most parts of the city.
