Authorities close more schools due to coronavirus outbreaks
Two more schools have been ordered to close temporarily due to coronavirus outbreaks. The schools are Dyssegårdsskolen in Gentofte and Stengård Skole in Gladsaxe, which were closed on Saturday and Sunday respectively, according to the list of private school closures issued by the Danish Patient Safety Agency.
At Dyssegårdsskolen in the municipality of Gentofte, 55 students and six employees have received positive answers to their tests since November 2.
The Vognfjederen and Olympia leisure clubs, belonging to Dyssegårdsskolen, were also closed.
At Stengård school, according to school principal Klaus Müller, there are 60 infected students and a small number of staff members.
SFO and the recreation club for students from grades 4 to 6 have also been closed, and students will continue their education remotely at both schools.
The closure of the two schools mentioned and the associated recreational clubs will remain in effect until November 27th.
Six schools closed
The Danish Patient Safety Agency's list shows that six schools have currently been ordered to remain closed.
In addition to the two schools, Giersings Realskole in Odense, Prins Henriks Skole in Frederiksberg, Brønshøj School in Copenhagen and Tjørnegårdsskolen in Gentofte were also closed.
Brønshøj School and Prince Henrik School were closed last Wednesday.
At Frederiksberg School, the outbreak was severe, and the entire school was closed. All 575 students were sent home.
At Brønshøj school, students from grades one to six were sent home.
Prins Henriks Skole and Brønshøj Skole reopened on Tuesday.
