According to TV2, the first woman (aged 35) of three women repatriated to Denmark from a detention camp in Syria was sentenced to three years in prison for promoting terrorism at the Esbjerg court on Friday.

The woman was convicted of promoting an organization intent on committing terrorism by being a housewife in the “Islamic State caliphate” in the Raqqa stronghold. In addition, she was punished for remaining in a conflict zone in which the Islamic State was involved without the permission of the Danish state.

The woman (35 years old) arrived in Denmark on October 7 of last year with two other women and 14 children, and has been detained ever since, while her five children are in the care of the Danish authorities (familiepleje).

The three Syrian mothers were charged under the terrorism clauses of Danish law, and this woman (35 years old) was the only one who pleaded guilty, and her case is considered the first to be settled.
