Sources: New coronavirus infections could soon reach 8,300 daily cases.
Estimates from the expert team responsible for providing mathematical models of the development of the spread of infection at the State Serum Institute indicate that in the middle of this month there will be 3400-8300 daily cases of coronavirus infection, noting that the highest number of daily cases recorded so far is 5120 cases throughout the entire period of the epidemic, as this number was recorded in the middle of this week.
The expert team points out that the estimate of cases did not take into account the intensive vaccination efforts during the next week.
The number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized has increased fivefold in two months.
The expert team expects the number of COVID-19 patients hospitalized in Denmark to rise to 550-750 by mid-month. Currently, 449 COVID-19 patients are hospitalized, a number that has increased in recent weeks. For example, a month ago the figure was 264, and about two months ago there were 82 COVID-19 patients hospitalized. It should be noted that some of those hospitalized were admitted for reasons other than COVID-19.
The team of experts expects the number of patients to increase particularly in the capital region, the Zealand region, and the southern Denmark region.
