A young man is in critical condition; details emerge of the shooting at a shisha lounge in the capital on Saturday night.
Copenhagen police inspector Rasmus Bernt Skovsgaard stated at a press conference on Saturday evening at approximately 23:15 that a young man was in critical condition after being shot in a shisha cafe in the capital, Copenhagen. He was taken to the hospital and police are currently working to identify him.
Police received a report of a shooting at 9:38 PM.
According to the police, the man was shot inside the shisha cafe located on Street 39 between the Frederiksberg and Nørrebro districts, and there were 4-6 people present at the location.
According to the police, the suspected perpetrator fled the scene and it is unknown whether there are any other perpetrators.
Police were “heavy-handed” around Åboulevard and cordoned off the area around Bölowsvej.
Police described the suspected perpetrator in a tweet as a “young man with a full beard” and dark hair, approximately 175 centimeters tall, who was wearing dark clothing, a black jacket, black or blue pants, black shoes, and black gloves.
Police estimate that after the shooting, the perpetrator fled to the Netto store in HC Ørestadsvej near Boulevard in Frederiksberg.
