Police arrest three Lithuanian men on charges of burglary and home invasion
Three young men from Lithuania were placed in pretrial detention until January 27, as confirmed at a constitutional hearing in the Roskilde court, where they were charged with several counts of burglary and home invasion.
The three men were arrested yesterday, and one of them was found in possession of nearly three grams of hashish, which was also seized in a drug law violation case.
Before the New Year, a resident of Vindinge, near Roskilde, had his home burglarized, and bicycles and a computer were stolen. The resident was able to locate one of the stolen devices using a tracking system, and thus contacted the Central and West Zealand Police and provided them with the information. A patrol then went to the location, which was an address in the Darup area.
At the address provided by the tracking signal, police initially contacted two foreign men from Lithuania, aged 21 and 27. Police found the smell of hashish permeating their residence. However, police did not find any drugs. Instead, police found several bicycles, a camera, a bag, AirPods headphones, and other items. The two men were arrested.
During the ongoing investigation and in an extensive search, the police found another Lithuanian man, aged 25, at the same location. He was also arrested because he was in possession of stolen goods from a robbery in Vindinge, as well as nearly three grams of hashish, which the police also seized in a drug law violation case.
During the renewed search, police found watches, jewelry, knife sets, headphones, and other items. They have also begun investigating the recovered stolen goods in an attempt to identify the owners.
