A train breakdown between Roskilde and Hove Tastrup is disrupting train traffic and causing widespread delays and cancellations in Copenhagen.
Train traffic is currently experiencing significant delays and multiple cancellations on the line between Copenhagen Central Station and Høje Taastrup, due to a train breakdown between the towns of Roskilde and Høje Taastrup, according to a local media outlet.
A spokesperson for the Danish railway company DSB told TV2 that the malfunction caused widespread disruptions to traffic, explaining that trains were forced to operate on only one track, leading to continued delays and the cancellation of some trips.
DSB added that at approximately 17:50 it announced the removal of the derailed train from the tracks, allowing for a gradual return to train traffic, but delays would continue for a few more hours, with no clear timetable for a return to full normal operation.
The company confirmed that it has not operated alternative buses on this section, urging travelers to follow the latest updates via the Rejseplanen flight schedule service before traveling.
In the same context, TV2 correspondent Jacob Bendixen Andersen reported from Copenhagen Central Station a state of confusion among passengers, noting that a number of them boarded trains that were later cancelled, causing significant overcrowding, while some passengers confirmed that they had been waiting since 4 pm.
