Chaos in train traffic after Christmas
The national railway company DSB reported that fewer regional trains were operating between Copenhagen Airport and Slagelse station on Monday due to a technical error in the system, forcing passengers to transfer to other trains via Copenhagen Central Station. DSB explained on its website that passengers traveling between Copenhagen Airport and Slagelse, as well as between the airport and Copenhagen Central Station, should use other trains and change trains in Copenhagen. The company urged travelers to check their travel plans before setting out to avoid disruptions.
Parliament summons minister after criticism of DSB management
According to TV2, Lila Stockmar, a member of parliament from the Unity List party, stated that Transport Minister Thomas Danielsen has been summoned to a parliamentary hearing to answer questions regarding the disruptions to train services during the Christmas season. Stockmar added that the minister will face criticism directed at DSB, citing TV2's coverage and the National Railway Workers' Club's criticism, which highlighted problems with staff training, staffing shortages, and pressure to increase production without adequate resources. Stockmar emphasized that the minister is required to provide explanations on how these problems will be addressed and how to ensure the stability of train services in the future.
Tips for travelers during the critical period
The DSB also again recommended that passengers check their journey plans before setting off, given the sudden changes to train schedules and the availability of alternative services such as train buses, amid ongoing technical disruptions on some regional service lines.
