Cancellations and delays in train services across the country for several days due to this reason.
A photo on the TV2 website showed overcrowding at Copenhagen's main station on Monday morning due to a work stoppage by employees at the workshops of the public transport company DSB. According to the source, quoting DSB, the work stoppage will affect train traffic and will continue over the coming days throughout Denmark, with DSB expecting cancellations and fewer and shorter train services on many routes. The entire country experienced cancellations and delays in train traffic on Monday due to the strike.
In particular, the following routes will be affected, as DSB has cancelled train traffic on them:
- Helsingør-Nivå-København
- Næstved-København
- Esbjerg-Kolding-Fredericia
- Kalundborg-Holbæk-København
- Odense-København
Dissatisfaction with salary negotiations
According to TV2 Øst, employees believe that the increases agreed upon in the salary increase negotiations were insufficient.
DSB Communications Director Niels Otto Fisker stated that he expects employees to return to work, saying: “We believe in the Danish model, and through negotiations, solutions to disagreements should be found, not work stoppages.” A group is expected to return to work this evening, Tuesday, at 23:00.
