According to DR, heavy rain is expected to hit parts of Denmark on Friday afternoon and evening. The likelihood of heavy rain increases in the afternoon, particularly in northern Zealand and the Copenhagen metropolitan area, where large amounts of rain with lightning are possible, but only for a short time. In addition, the showers may be accompanied by hail and fairly strong winds. Furthermore, the southern Jutland region may also experience heavy rain on Friday afternoon.

Copenhagen is one of the few cities in Denmark that has daily weather records for the past 149 years. The DR weather website analyzed this data for all droughts that began or ended in one of the three summer months. The last time a long drought occurred was in 1995, when it did not rain from the end of July until August for 29 consecutive days.
