Following official reports in Sweden yesterday about preparations for a possible war in Sweden, Danish Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen stated that “there is one specific difference between Denmark and Sweden, which means that we in Denmark do not need to prepare for war in the same way that the Swedes do. This is our membership in NATO,” according to what was just reported on the TV2 website.

The Danish Defense Minister added, according to the source: “If a country wants to attack Denmark, we have good friends who will come to Denmark’s aid. It is unfortunate that Sweden has not yet reached this stage… It would create a completely unnecessary state of panic and anxiety if I went out and said that we should prepare for the fact that we might be invaded by the Russians tomorrow or in 14 days. I don’t think that is the case at all.”

This statement comes after the Commander-in-Chief of the Swedish Armed Forces, Mikael Byden, emphasized the need for all Swedes to prepare for the possibility of war in the country. Byden described the current situation as "very serious," noting that "on an individual level, everyone must prepare themselves psychologically," according to the Swedish news website Akter News, which also reported the following: Minister of Civil Defence Carl Oscar Bohlin also warned of the possibility of war breaking out in Sweden during his participation in the National People's and Defence Conference. The minister stressed the importance and necessity of immediate action and preparation. He reiterated his calls for all Swedish citizens to work diligently to strengthen Sweden's ability to meet the challenges facing the country. Bohlin said, "These warnings have been repeated many times, but let me emphasize this strongly – there is a possibility of war in Sweden." The National People's and Defence Conference 2024 is being held from January 7 to 9, 2024.
