A court in Glostrup sentenced a 47-year-old man from Taastrup to one year in prison and deportation after he was found guilty of severe psychological abuse against his ex-wife and violence against children.
According to a police statement, the 47-year-old man was convicted of subjecting the woman to highly degrading behavior over several years, including dictating how she should dress and who she should communicate with, as well as controlling her finances and browsing her phone.

In the fall of 2022, the woman approached the authorities, who supported her in reporting the complaints. The case was investigated by the Copenhagen police's "Crimes in Close Relations" division, and the man was subsequently taken into custody.
“This case is an example of how helpful it is to go to the authorities, and from there you are ready to help people who have been subjected to this type of crime,” said prosecutor Bjarke Moe Enevoldsen, according to a police statement.
In addition to the prison sentence, the prosecution demanded the man's deportation, and yesterday the court in Glostrup sentenced the man to one year in prison and permanent deportation from Denmark, as requested by the public prosecutor.
