According to TV2 and Midtvest, the police carried out a large and secret operation at the Udrejsecenter Kærshovedgård asylum center, during which large quantities of drugs and an amount exceeding 700,000 kronor were seized in January of this year, more than seven months ago. This was not announced to the public, and the police remained silent about it.

According to sources, a number of politicians were deeply shocked by the existence of such a serious crime in the deportation center. TV MIDVEST reported that it had uncovered the presence of five people connected to the aforementioned deportation center in Central Jutland who have been detained since January in a major drug case, which includes charges of drug smuggling in the area surrounding Kærshovedgård and burying drugs in a forest in Remmevej between Iskat and Isenvad.

According to sources, the file shows that there are 5 foreigners accused of possessing more than 700,000 Danish kroner in cash and nearly 5 kilograms of dangerous drugs such as cocaine and heroin, in addition to a large quantity of pills and other types of drugs. Part of this was found in several rooms in the Kærshovedgård deportation center.

Several politicians have expressed shock and dismay at the issue, including a politician from the Venstre Liberal Party, a member of the current government. Former Minister for Immigration and Integration and leader of the Danish Democrats, Inger Støjberg, also expressed concern about the lack of transparency surrounding the five arrests: “I don’t think the government wants to bring this to the public’s attention, because it will only increase insecurity. If they can create the impression that everything is fine in and around Kærshovedgård, it will suggest that there shouldn’t be a third deportation center for hardened criminals. But I think there should be,” sources said.

TV MIDVEST reports that it is working to obtain a response from the Central and Western Jutland Police, according to TV2.

The original news report also included a summary about the Utrejsecenter Kærshovedgård deportation center, which stated:

There are two deportation centers in Denmark run by the Correctional Service, one in Sjælsmark in North Zealand, and the other in Kærshoved not far from Ikast.

- Rejected asylum seekers, convicted deportees, and people residing in the deportation center live there.

– Residents of Kærshovedgård can move around freely and are not deprived of their freedom. In principle, they can come and go to the center as they please, but they are obliged to stay and spend the night at the deportation center.

The area itself is populated around the clock and is under video surveillance, and according to the surveillance unit, there is monitoring of entry to the site.
