What many people may not know is that Denmark consists of a large group of islands, specifically 444 islands, only 76 of which are inhabited. This means there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy going on an island trip!

Some of the most popular and favorite islands for tourism are Ærø, Rømø, Bornholm, and Læsø.

It is worth mentioning that the islands of Bornholm and Samsø won an important vote in 2020 as the most sustainable islands in the European Union, so if you like to experience environmentally friendly (green) living, don't bother looking and head to those two islands.
