High inflation has prompted Copenhagen's popular amusement park Tivoli to raise its entrance fees despite its revenues soaring last year.

Last year was a remarkable year for Tivoli in terms of sales volume, which reached 1.1 billion kronor.

This year is also expected to be an important one for the famous amusement park, as it celebrates its 180th anniversary.

The event will feature an attempt to increase sales volume when Tivoli opens its doors this year. It is known that the Tivoli amusement park closes its doors during the winter season, except for holidays and events such as Halloween, Christmas season, and others.

Tivoli CEO Susanne Murch-Koch said: “We have decided to increase admission prices slightly, but the price of our annual passes will remain the same.” .

The entrance fee will be increased by 10 kroner (about 7 percent) to become 155 kroner in line with inflation.

Tivoli hopes to attract 4 million visitors in 2023, compared to 3.9 billion in 2022. Last year's visitor numbers were 61% higher than in 2021, when the Covid-19 pandemic severely impacted tourism and business.

It is noted that since George Carstensen founded Tivoli in 1843, the amusement park has grown to become one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Danish capital, for both locals and tourists.

Tivoli will celebrate its anniversary throughout the year, including a concert with opera singer Lise Davidsen and a huge fireworks display on August 15, as well as a series of concerts.

Last week, Fredagsrock's Friday evening concert program, running from April to September, confirmed the addition of three more big names to its lineup: Rick Astley (August 11), Macklemore (July 21), and Texas (July 7). A previous announcement had already confirmed Deep Purple (June 9).
