Swedish furniture giant IKEA will raise prices on some goods in the coming period by up to 50% for some products, even though the average price increase overall is 9%.
According to the company, the price increase is due to higher costs related to shipping and logistics in the supply chain as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, and the amount of the price increase will vary from country to country and from product to product.
IKEA's communications manager, Sandra Jacob, told the British newspaper The Guardian that IKEA's goal remains to provide affordable goods for most people.
