A brawl between protesters and a journalist led to riots yesterday during the trial of former minister Inger Støjberg, when veteran Danish journalist Knud Meldgaard intervened against protesters who were supporters of Støjberg and wanted to burn the Quran in front of the Supreme Court.

Journalist Knud Mildgaard, 76, was assaulted for intervening to prevent the burning of the Quran, resulting in blood from a scratch on his face. Police intervened and removed him from the protesters.

According to the source, Knud Mildgaard commented that he stepped forward from the demonstrators when one of the participants began burning the Quran. Mildgaard expressed his dissatisfaction with the burning of the Quran, and whether it was the Quran, the Bible, or the writings collected by the Pope, it had nothing to do with freedom of expression, he said.
