According to the Danish Broadcasting Corporation website, East Jutland police have received 43 reports of gasoline and fuel theft since February of this year.
One of the reports was filed by Marianne Leke Bochav from the Aarhus region, who on Tuesday morning sat in her Peugeot 208, which she had filled with petrol for 18 kroner per liter the previous day. When she started the car, she found that the fuel gauge was low, as a hole had been drilled in the tank and the fuel had been drained out.
It is currently being investigated whether this is related to gasoline prices, which have risen sharply since the outbreak of war in Ukraine, according to the source.
