The Danish Foreign Minister contacted his Egyptian counterpart regarding the burning of the Quran, and this is a statement from the Egyptian Foreign Ministry.

The official spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Egyptian Foreign Minister received a call from his Danish counterpart Lars Løkke Rasmussen on Friday afternoon, during which Rasmussen confirmed the Danish government’s rejection of the incidents of burning the Holy Quran in Denmark, and that it is taking measures to prevent their recurrence.
Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry called for decisive action against the perpetrators of these heinous crimes, as they offend the feelings of millions of Muslims and contradict the values of human rights and peaceful coexistence, according to a tweet by the official spokesman of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Friday afternoon.
The Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs also posted a tweet on behalf of Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen, which read: “Good telephone call with Egyptian Foreign Minister Shoukry about current developments and our close bilateral relations, and reiterating Denmark’s condemnation of the burning of the Quran. We are currently exploring possibilities of intervention in specific situations. We cannot allow these acts to divide our societies.“.
It is worth noting that the Egyptian Foreign Ministry recently summoned the Danish ambassador in Cairo following the burning of the Quran in Denmark, which occurred in front of the Egyptian embassy in the Danish capital, Copenhagen.
