Three of the largest parties in the city of Aarhus have submitted a proposal to the municipality to implement a pilot plan for a four-day work week instead of a five-day week, with the working hours of the fifth day being spread over four days, with the aim of reducing the pressure on teachers and those working in elderly care.

The pilot scheme will initially be voluntary and will apply to some day care centers and workplaces in the elderly care sector.

The proposal will be studied in the coming period, and then the municipality of Aarhus will decide whether to proceed with the experiment.
