Starting Monday, November 1st, the new police system will come into effect, in which the police prioritize a number of specific tasks, meaning that the police must move immediately to be at the scene within 10 minutes if there are reports of the following:

  • Reporting a robbery
  • Selling drugs at school
  • Report of violence
  • Report of rape

According to Justice Minister Nick Hækkerup, the goal is to apply the same measures to all forms of crime, but these four crimes were chosen to start with "because they significantly impact public safety." More funds will be allocated to the police, and more officers will receive training. This move comes after reports of a growing sense of insecurity among residents in some areas of Denmark.
