32 million passengers this year
In a press release from Copenhagen Airport, Peter Krogsgaard, Copenhagen Airport's Commercial Director, said: “There are over 1,000 international airports in the world. The passenger experience is at the heart of our business, and we are delighted and proud of this recognition. It is a testament to our employees and partners, who work tirelessly every day to provide passengers at Copenhagen Airport with a first-class experience. Last year, nearly 30 million passengers traveled through Copenhagen Airport. Almost half of them were international passengers, while the rest were from Denmark and southern Sweden. This year, Copenhagen Airport expects to set a record with 32 million passengers. We are constantly working to be an attractive airport for both passengers and airlines. Currently, we are undergoing the largest renovation in the airport's history, expanding Terminal 3. The expanded terminal area will increase our capacity, provide a better passenger experience, and create a more efficient airport,” Krogsgaard told Standby.
In total, Terminal 3 at Copenhagen International Airport will be expanded with a new building area of 60,000 square meters, in addition to the renovation of 11,000 square meters. The new terminal area will include several restaurants, shops, cafes, an outdoor garden and modern baggage handling facilities, and is expected to be completed during 2027.
