The square opposite the Danish Parliament building in the capital, Copenhagen, is witnessing a demonstration by climate activists, who are filling the streets, alleys, and squares. The demonstration was called for by the Climate Rebellion movement, known for its dramatic acts of civil disobedience.

According to the protesters, there will be demonstrations starting today and lasting for a week, and the movement will include closing all bridges leading to Slotsholmen where Christiansborg (the Danish Parliament building) is located, as the climate movement wrote on Facebook.

Copenhagen police stated that traffic is currently facing challenges and that passage around Christiansborg is not possible. Copenhagen police said: “For safety reasons, we have ensured that motorists cannot cross traffic (in that area).” The police do not currently have a timeframe for the current situation.
