The Epidemics Committee submitted its report to a number of ministries on Tuesday afternoon. Among the recommendations in the report, the committee proposed stopping the classification of Corona as a socially serious disease, and consequently stopping almost all current Corona restrictions as of February 5, with the exception of some infection prevention measures to protect vulnerable groups and the elderly.

While the committee's recommendations suggested lifting current restrictions relating to nightlife, corapas requirements and mask-wearing, for example, the committee suggested continuing to require testing and quarantine upon entry to Denmark for four weeks from January 31.

Despite this optimistic tone, the Epidemics Committee emphasizes that there is still a need to take measures and recommendations to prevent infection, particularly with regard to the vulnerable and elderly. The committee recommends that hospitals and nursing homes require visitors to use masks and Coronapas as much as possible in the future. The committee also continues to urge organizers of events in large indoor spaces to take steps to reduce the risk of infection by continuing to require Coronapas, calling for testing, and maintaining social distancing.

The government has announced that it has invited the relevant committee in the Danish parliament, which includes health rapporteurs from parliamentary parties, to discuss the recommendations tomorrow. Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen is expected to hold a press conference on this matter tomorrow, Wednesday.

The report indicates that the number of people infected with the virus is expected to peak at the end of this month or the beginning of February. In general, Danish hospitals are not currently facing serious challenges due to the coronavirus, and many regions have begun to reduce their preparations related to receiving coronavirus patients.

As for the coronavirus statistics for Tuesday, 46,590 new cases were recorded in 24 hours, while the number of coronavirus patients hospitalized rose to 918, an increase of 24 new cases during the same period. In addition, 14 new deaths were recorded, bringing the number of coronavirus victims in Denmark to 3,635 since the outbreak of the epidemic locally.
