Prime Minister faces harsh criticism after warnings issued to officials in the mink case were cancelled.
The Prime Minister today cancelled the warning she issued to the head of the department in the Prime Minister's Office and senior official Barbara Bertelsen in the mink case, according to a press release this morning, Friday. The disciplinary reprimand of the head of the Justice Ministry department, Johan Liegart, was also cancelled, as was the warning issued to the head of the Justice Ministry department, Ann-Mette Linn Jensen.
Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, who is currently in Brussels, explained that the new assessment, according to the investigation department, that the press conference was not an instruction, has also changed the approach of the Danish Personnel and Skills Agency towards the consequences for Barbara Bertelsen, and this has led to her receiving harsh criticism, especially from mink breeders affected by the decision to kill all mink during the Corona crisis.
It is worth noting that several parties promised to conduct investigations into the mink case against Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, but backed down after the parliamentary elections. For example, the Liberal Party repeatedly promised during the election campaign to investigate the Danish Prime Minister regarding the mink case, but the party gave up on this during the government negotiations, which resulted in the party entering the government with several important ministerial portfolios.
