Danish health authorities set up rapid testing centers to screen for coronavirus infection for free during the pandemic. After announcing the end of all coronavirus restrictions and ceasing to consider COVID-19 as a socially serious disease earlier this year, it was also decided that Sunday would be the last day of operation for most rapid testing centers throughout Denmark. Starting Monday, it will no longer be possible to conduct rapid testing for free.

The rapid test has cost the state more than 7.5 billion Danish kroner and more than 50 million rapid tests have been carried out, according to the Danish news agency Ritzau.
