Police find parts of human remains suspected to belong to missing young woman Mia (22 years old)

Update 12/2/2022: North Jutland police have just announced that the DNA of the missing young woman, Mia, in Aalborg matches the human remains found in the Dronninglund Storskov forest, thus confirming the death of the 22-year-old.
North Jutland police announced Thursday evening that they had found human remains suspected to belong to missing woman Mia Skadaug Steffen, who disappeared Sunday morning in Aalborg. Forensic investigations are ongoing to confirm the findings, after police intensified their search in three areas, including a holiday home district and a wooded area. The Danish Minister for Gender Equality stated that the government will introduce a draft proposal to reduce the senseless killing of women. Speaking at a press conference, she declared that Mia was the fourth woman murdered this year, adding that they are being killed simply because they are women.

This came after the disappearance of a 22-year-old woman in Aalborg, where police arrested two men, both 36 years old, and charged them with premeditated murder before the body was found. One of them was remanded in custody for four weeks, while the other was released, but remains accused in the case.
