According to an article published a short while ago on TV2, the government intends to present a new entrepreneurship strategy on Wednesday, which includes tax breaks for companies, as stated by Defense Minister Troels Lund Poulsen in an interview with TV2 on Tuesday.

According to TV2, the government is trying to make up for its poor results in the European Parliament elections in Denmark by presenting a new entrepreneurship strategy on Wednesday that includes tax breaks for companies.

Troels Lund Poulsen told the source: “We have invested heavily in social welfare, and in a short period we will also be delivering significant tax cuts in connection with a new entrepreneurship strategy, which we will present tomorrow, as well as other good initiatives for the Danish business sector.”.

The minister believes this is the work the government should continue to do: “For me, it is crucial that the government continues to have the courage to be ambitious. This is what the voters demand from this central government,” according to the source.

When asked by the channel's reporter if everything was going well, why the voters weren't more enthusiastic, the minister replied: "...there is a difference between how one views the government in terms of metrics and how the election results turn out. I think I can say this with a great deal of credibility, because I was out there for eight months and I was able to see the exclusion of the Venstre Liberal Party, (but) we got a strong and nice boost of approximately 15% of votes in the European Parliament elections.".

According to the source, the details of the new entrepreneurship strategy are not yet known. It will be presented on Wednesday, and was originally scheduled for the end of 2023, but then-Business Minister Morten Bodskov told the newspaper Alting that it would not be published until after the end of the year, according to TV2.

The government had previously announced that the entrepreneurship strategy was on its way to implementation, and it was said here that priority would be given to 1 billion kronor annually from 2030, in addition to the 1.5 billion kronor already allocated for the period 2024-2027.

He added that, among other things, the strategy should provide a framework to meet global demand for green technology, and at the same time, one must “innovate and prioritize business support,” so that Danish companies are supported in the best way possible, but tax breaks have not been specifically mentioned before.
