Parliamentary agreement: Ukrainians will be housed in "ghetto" areas and classified as Third World citizens.
Local media reported on the parliament's decision regarding the law on parallel societies (formerly ghettos), in which Ukrainians were classified as citizens of the Third World.
On Thursday, a majority in parliament approved a number of legislative changes, including one provision that displaced Ukrainians who have come to Denmark in the future could be housed in “unstable” residential areas.
The challenge until now has been classifying Ukrainians due to legislation concerning parallel societies. It was agreed to classify them as Third World citizens, and thus they were covered by the criteria of ghettos or parallel societies—as they were called about a year ago. Read more after the image.

Previously, it was not possible for Ukrainians to live in these residential areas, of which 12 appear in the latest list of parallel communities.
A month ago, the government announced that it was investigating various accommodation options for Ukrainians who fled Ukraine after the Russian invasion on February 24, and mentioned unstable residential areas called parallel communities.
The changes to the legislation also mean that municipalities can temporarily deviate from building requirements legislation, for example those relating to day care facilities, schools and institutions.
Estimates predict 100,000 Ukrainian refugees
The government is working on a scenario in which more than 100,000 refugees could come from Ukraine to Denmark.
