5000 kroner on its way to 290,000 Danes today

290,000 elderly pensioners will receive 5,000 Danish kroner as inflation assistance. Starting today, Monday, these additional inflation benefits will be paid to 290,000 beneficiaries of elderly checks, with each of them receiving 5,000 tax-free Danish kroner, according to TV2.
Previously, 5,000 Danish kroner was paid to elderly pensioners as assistance due to inflation and rising prices, so the total amount is 10,000 Danish kroner for 2022 and this year.
This financial assistance is part of an agreement on inflation aid that was entered into by a broad majority in the Danish parliament last February, with all parties except the Liberal and Conservative Alliance voting in favor of the bill.
The total amount of the inflation assistance agreement is approximately 2.4 billion Danish kroner, of which approximately 1.1 billion Danish kroner has been allocated to recipients of the elderly or old-age check.
