The Danish health minister is quarantined in a Brussels hotel after testing positive for coronavirus.

Danish media outlets have just published, citing a press release from the Ministry of Health, confirmation that Danish Health Minister Magnus Heunicke has tested positive for COVID-19.

The ministry also stated that Magnus Heunicke had used both the metro and trains in Copenhagen and participated in a Christmas lunch at the Ministry of Health on December 3.

The ministry wrote in the press release that the location of the infection could not be determined, while another case was confirmed at a Christmas luncheon.

Heonike arrived in Brussels on Monday for a meeting, and on Tuesday morning he took a self-test which came back positive, later confirmed by a particularly rapid PCR test.

He is now in quarantine in a hotel room in the Belgian capital, Brussels.

The press release stated that the Minister of Health is doing well under these circumstances but has mild symptoms in the form of a sore throat, and the Minister of Health continues to do his work to the fullest extent possible from his hotel room in Brussels.
