According to local media, unauthorized drone activity was observed on Wednesday in the Halfdan Bravo oil and gas field in the Danish part of the North Sea. This occurred a few days after unidentified drones flew near several Norwegian energy platforms and after explosions in the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas supply lines in the Baltic Sea near Denmark.

According to Andreas Gray, an expert on drones and an assistant professor in the Department of Military Technology at the Danish Defence Academy, unidentified drones are usually equipped with night and day cameras, and therefore serve an important purpose: gathering information and planning for a possible future attack.

The Danish Halfdan Bravo field is located approximately 210 kilometers west of the Danish city of Esbjerg. According to the expert, flying drones would most likely require a nearby ship to send them into the air and onto the platform. Drones typically have a range of 100 kilometers. The expert also pointed out that there are suspicions that the Danish energy infrastructure is exposed, which warrants attention.

Danish police confirmed to TV2 that they are investigating the incident but could not provide further details. The number of drones involved and their activities around the oil and gas field remain unknown.
