Only seven Syrian refugees whose asylum applications were rejected in Denmark have returned to Syria in the last year and a half, while 41 Syrians from that category are currently residing in deportation centers, according to figures issued by the agency for deportation to the country of origin, as reported by the Jyllands-Posten newspaper.

The Syrians reside in deportation centers under strict regulations that limit their freedom to leave these centers except at specific times. Currently, the Danish government cannot force these individuals to board a plane to return to Syria, as it is unable to coordinate diplomatically with the Syrian regime, having severed diplomatic ties with the current government.
