The Palestinian Community Forum in Denmark, through its Vice President Dr. Salah al-Din Kayed, informed the “Denmark 24” website that it had received a letter from the Unity List party (Enhedslisten) regarding a proposed vote in the Copenhagen City Council on naming a district in the capital, Copenhagen, “Palestine Square” (Palæstinas Plads). The proposed area is located between Nørrebrogade and Hillerødgade in Copenhagen.

The letter stated that the Enhedslisten party has been campaigning for this name for some time and had previously submitted the proposal several times in cooperation with Palestinian associations in Denmark. However, the proposal did not receive the necessary support for discussion in the municipal council. Finally, their proposal has now gained the support of the Radikale (Radical) Party, the SF (Socialist) Party, and the Altarnativet (Alternative) Party. The Enhedslisten party concluded its letter by expressing its sincere respect for the Palestinian people.
