The time has come to collect the "food check" in Denmark, prompting calls to monitor bank accounts for three days.

Uncertainty may surround the timing of the "food check" reaching the accounts of thousands of Danes, as there is no specific date for each category of beneficiaries during the designated disbursement days, according to BT.

Account monitoring from Monday to Wednesday

The report stated that thousands of citizens in Denmark need to monitor their bank accounts from Monday until Wednesday morning, as the "food check" disbursement process begins during this period.

The support includes retirees who receive a government pension, beneficiaries of public assistance, as well as students who receive SU education support.

Some families will receive support later.

The report noted that families with children, where one parent's income is less than 500,000 kroner per year, will not receive the "food check" now, but it will be disbursed to them in June.

According to BT, these details mean that many citizens will need to wait and monitor their accounts in the coming days to find out when the support will arrive.

Unspecified date for arrival of funds

The report explained that the problem lies in the lack of clarity regarding the timing of the arrival of funds for each category, as payments could arrive on Monday, Tuesday, or Wednesday, without a precise date.

He pointed out that there is no reason to worry if the money does not appear in the account on Monday morning, as long as the person meets the eligibility requirements for support.

Payment Authority statements

BT also quoted the Danish Payments Authority Udbetaling Danmark as saying that the “food check” transfer process takes place over two days, Monday, May 4 and Tuesday, May 5.

The authority added that the funds will be available to citizens during the period from May 4 to 6.

She also confirmed that she does not conduct a daily count of the number of people who received the money, which means that the distribution is not done equally on the same day for everyone.

Possible delay in some cases

Udbetaling Danmark indicated that most citizens will receive the funds within the specified period, but delays may occur in some special cases.

She explained that foreign bank account holders may not receive the funds before May 6 due to transfer procedures.
