New report: Copenhagen residents feel safest in 15 years – except in these areas

According to the latest safety survey in the Danish capital city of Copenhagen, Copenhagen residents feel safer in the evening and at night, recording the highest level of feeling safe in Copenhagen in the last 15 years.

In the survey, four out of five Copenhagen residents said they feel safe when they go out in the evening and at night, the highest level in 15 years according to the latest safety survey.

According to the survey, overall security has increased in the capital. In 2024, 881,000 residents feel safe in their neighborhoods, the highest level measured since 2016.

However, the level of security varies across different areas of the capital, as in five out of 13 people, less than 85% citizens feel safe, namely the residents of the areas of Christianshavn, Bispebjerg, Indre Nørrebro, Brønshøj-Husum and Amager Øst.
