New ranking: Copenhagen is the best city in the world to live and work in

Every year, the international lifestyle magazine Monocle publishes its list of the 25 best cities to live in worldwide. This year, Copenhagen tops the list for the second year running, and for the fifth time it has been named the “most livable city,” according to a press release from the City of Copenhagen.
The magazine highlights Copenhagen's handling of the coronavirus crisis, the city's "vibrant" cultural life and economy, as well as security, public transport and welfare in Copenhagen. It also shows that Copenhagen's citizens are completely satisfied with the places where they live and work, all from the perspective of the global magazine. As something new this year, Monocle also focuses on climate efforts in cities and in this regard highlights Copenhagen's goal of becoming the world's first carbon-neutral capital by 2025.
In addition to Copenhagen, Zurich in Switzerland and Lisbon in Portugal occupy the top three spots, while Stockholm in Sweden secured fifth place and Oslo in Norway ranked 23rd on the list of 25 cities.
According to the magazine, the award is based on “the most famous analyses of figures, lengthy discussions and research in cities.”.
The mayor is proud of the result.
Copenhagen Mayor Sophie Hestrup Andersen expressed her pride in the award: “This award is a huge bet on Copenhagen, which once again has the great honor of being the best city in the world to live and work in. It is a tribute to the people of Copenhagen and our wonderful city.”.
The magazine was launched in 2007, and since then it has voted every year on the best cities in the world to live in, and during this time Copenhagen has been ranked first five times.
