A 31-year-old man has been extradited to Denmark in a 2019 case involving reckless driving and manslaughter.

According to a press release from Copenhagen Police, authorities in the United Arab Emirates, at the request of Copenhagen Police, arrested a 31-year-old Danish citizen and extradited him to Denmark to stand trial for allegedly causing a fatal accident in Langebrow in 2019.
The 31-year-old man appeared before a Copenhagen court on Friday for a constitutional hearing with a request to extend his pre-trial detention.
The accused was charged with several offenses, including reckless driving and manslaughter under particularly aggravated circumstances in connection with a traffic accident on the night of July 23, 2019, in which he collided with several vehicles coming from the direction of Langebro at high speed and under circumstances that resulted in the death of a 35-year-old man.
Regarding the trial in the Copenhagen City Court in 2020, the accused fled to the United Arab Emirates, where he has resided ever since.
Following close cooperation between authorities in Denmark and the United Arab Emirates, the 31-year-old man was arrested in Dubai and has now been extradited to Denmark to stand trial at the request of Copenhagen police. A constitutional hearing was held Friday morning at the Copenhagen City Court.
