Starting at midnight tonight: Danes must show a negative test result when entering Sweden
Starting at midnight tonight, Sweden will begin implementing new coronavirus restrictions regarding the entry of foreigners and non-residents into its territory, including residents and citizens of bordering countries entering Sweden by land.
The new restrictions stipulate that a negative test result issued no more than 48 hours prior must be shown, regardless of whether the person has been vaccinated or not, and both PCR and rapid test results are accepted.
Consequently, Swedish authorities will require the test result to be shown at border crossings, which may cause waiting times on the Øresund Bridge, especially during peak times.
Everyone over the age of 12 will be required to show a negative test result. This procedure does not apply to people who regularly cross the border to work or study in Sweden, who will be required to provide a negative test result no more than one week old or a vaccination certificate.
People traveling through Sweden between Bornholm and other parts of Denmark will be exempt from the testing requirement, as will people working in freight transport or in the transport sector.
