Palestinian photographer Moataz Azayza meets with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen in Copenhagen
Palestinian photographer Moataz Azayza posted a photo of himself during his meeting with Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen in Copenhagen on Monday. Azayza captioned the photo, which he shared on Instagram, in English: “Palestinians are a people with aspirations and dreams. Decision-makers and officials with any kind of power must do more.”.
I thank Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke for meeting with me today. He listened to what I had to say and understood the pain Palestinians are suffering because of the ongoing genocide. Palestinians are a people with aspirations and dreams that have been shattered by this genocide, the siege that has lasted for more than 17 years, and this brutal occupation.
I appreciate Denmark's call for a ceasefire, but we need to take serious action. Recognizing Palestine as a state would be a positive step for Denmark, as other European countries have recently done.
I am not a politician and I did not request this position, but it is my duty to my people and my country to help in any way possible, so until I am able to return to Gaza, I will travel anywhere I can educate and inform leaders about the daily atrocities faced by Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied territories.
I still feel helpless, but I'm trying, and I ask everyone to continue your efforts and do everything you can to draw attention to Gaza. This madness must stop now!!“
